Pastoral Care
At Kinderworld, we believe academic success is inseparable from emotional wellbeing. Our Pastoral Care programme is designed to ensure every student feels safe, supported, and valued. We grow not just thinkers, but caring individuals who thrive.
What We Mean by Pastoral Care
- Holistic support for emotional, social, physical, and moral development
- Ensuring that students have a strong sense of belonging and identity within the school
- Equipping students with life skills: self-awareness, resilience, responsibility, empathy
- Leadership, mentoring and student voice, so students are partners in their own growth
What We Mean by Pastoral Care
Mentor/Tutor System
Each student is assigned a mentor (tutor/class teacher) who meets regularly with them, tracks wellbeing, monitors progress, and acts as first contact for both students and parents.
Year Heads / Stage Coordinators
Specialists who oversee pastoral welfare per stage (Early Years, Key Stage 1–5), ensuring the needs particular to each age group are met, coordinating support, and managing transitions.
Counselling & Wellbeing Services
Trained counsellors are available for individual support. Workshops on mental health, stress management, peer relationships, and emotional literacy are delivered regularly.
Behaviour & Values
A clear values framework underpins how we expect students to behave. Respect, kindness, integrity, perseverance are taught and reinforced through daily interactions, assemblies, and school culture.
Safeguarding & Child Protection
Robust policies in place to protect students physically and emotionally. Staff are trained in identifying concerns, reporting, and responding appropriately.
Parent-School Partnership
Regular parent-teacher meetings; seminars and talks on topics affecting young people (bullying, digital safety, well-being); open channels of communication.
